We are really excited to bring you this week’s podcast- first we speak live via telephone to recent TLS editor Lashel, and special visiting intern Kate from Manchester University sits in. The girls discuss the differences between residency placements in the US versus the UK. Is it better to have your future life and career as a doctor determined by seven questions, or by what is essentially a dating service for hospitals? Diane Wu of the University of British Colombia in Canada calls in to chat about her recently published article, China’s Next Great Wall. Speaking from personal experience in rural China, Diane gives a great account of the efficacy of China’s recently adopted NCMS healthcare system. Ultimately the talk turns to the global health care crisis, the global economic crisis, and how this may all be solved by sending politicians back to school. Listen in!
