This week’s Lancet Editorials are on breast cancer in developing countries, teaching responsible conduct in research and the FDA’s lack of follow-up for drug trials.
The Articles are on RPE65 gene therapy for inherited retinal diseases, liraglutide in the treatment of obesity and the increased risk of patients taking thiopurines for inflammatory bowel disease suffering lymphoproliferative disorders. These are accompanied by Comments on gene therapy for blindness, weight management through gastrointestinal hormones and immunosuppression in IBD.
The World Report is on insecticide resistance threatening malaria control in Africa, a new UK law to stop children from smoking and increasing European funds for tuberculosis research.
