International Conference Opportunity
Today’s blog has been written by Ron Thomas Varghese to advertise the International Student Congress of Medical Sciences annual conference in June. Ron is a final year medical student from Government Medical College, India, who has went to the ISCOMS in 2008 and presently is the ISCOMS ambassador to India. Our posted article today has also been written by Ron, looking at the role of power and politics in global health.
The International Student Congress of Medical Sciences (ISCOMS) is an annual international conference held in UMCG, Groningen, Netherlands.
The ISCOMS will be held from June 2nd to June 5th 2009 in Groningen.
The abstract submission is open till the 15th of February.
This year’s guest speakers include nobel laureates like Prof Dr Ferid Murad and Dr Robin Warren.
The conference gives you the opportunity to present in front of an international audience, and get feedback from expert judges and the audience. This is extremely helpful experience for building both your knowledge and communication skill. The conference also gives you the opportunity to meet medical students from all over the world, meeting as true global citizens. Understanding the culture and traditions of different counties will give you a feel of how medicine is practiced in their various countries too.
