Taking the issue of water and sanitation to DFID
On this week’s Lancet Student podcast, interns Abi and Hannah are joined by Medsin vice-president for branches, Erica Pool, and campaigns coordinator, Jonny Currie, who talk about presenting the water and sanitation petition to Mike Foster, the Undersecretary of State at DFID and his response (there’s more about that in Thursday’s blog). We also talk about the appeal heard this week, brought by the Department of Health against the High Court ruling that failed asylum seekers are entitled to free NHS care (also in Friday’s blog), a healthworker protest in Zimbabwe and a bit about what’s in the Lancet this week.
