Physicians for Human Rights is taking another step into Web 2.0 with the launch of our video postcard project. For World AIDS Day, we are collecting video postcards from students and health professionals in the US and throughout the world who are concerned about HIV/AIDS and human rights. You can add your voice to this growing community with a strong personal message telling our policy makers that we must fight for the fundamental right to health. Please join us in this exciting, new way to take action.

We’ve posted instructions on the PHR website for creating and submitting a video, including a sample script. You can view videos that have already been submitted by visiting PHR’s YouTube channel and clicking on the video titled “PHR’s World AIDS Day Video Project” and viewing the responses.

The great thing is that you don’t have to be a digital video expert to do this. You can use a simple web cam that comes with most computers or the recording function of your digital camera.

In addition to the video postcards, we’ve created a special World AIDS Day section of the website with educational resources and other opportunities to take action including an online petition.  There are fact sheets about strengthening health systems in Africa and you can view slideshows of our African colleagues Jane Byarugaba and Dr. Katumba, who are on the front lines fighting AIDS.
